Last spring, I walked through my friend Sheila’s garden, and this tiny beauty was there.
This one is Rosa minutifolia, also known as the Small-Leaved Rose. It is the only native rose in San Diego County, with tiny leaves and delicate pink blooms that appear in early spring. I was drawn to its softness and quiet strength.
